Last Wednesday, April 2, was a night of celebration and reflection for all of us at Cochrane Toyota. We marked a monumental milestone: 15 years of serving our community, providing exceptional vehicles, and building lasting relationships. But this milestone wasn’t just about us—it was about everyone who’s been a part of this journey. From our loyal customers to our dedicated staff, it was a night to honour the commitment, hard work, and community spirit that have made Cochrane Toyota what it is today.

A Night to Remember

The evening was made even more special by the presence of some incredible guests. We were thrilled to welcome Cyril Dimitris, President of Toyota Canada, who presented us with Toyota's prestigious President's Award. This recognition is a true honour, as it’s awarded to the top-performing dealerships across Canada—not based on sales or profits, but on how we treat our customers, staff, and the community we serve. Being named #1 in Canada among 247 dealerships is an achievement we’re incredibly proud of, and it speaks volumes about the team we’ve built and the values we hold dear.

Alongside Cyril, we were joined by Peter Guthrie, MLA for Airdrie-Cochrane, Blake Richards, MP, Jeff Genung, Mayor of Cochrane, and many others who’ve supported us throughout the years. Their presence reminded us of the strong community bonds that have played such a huge role in our success. From parades to outhouse races, Cochrane has always been more than just a place to do business—it’s our home.

Community and People First

As our General Manager, Ryan Baum, shared during the event, “This award isn’t about sales or profit, it’s about how you treat your customers, your processes, and your staff.” Ryan’s words are a reflection of the core values we’ve built Cochrane Toyota on. For us, business isn’t just about the cars we sell—it’s about the people we serve and the relationships we’ve built along the way.

The Baum family has deep roots in Cochrane, with over 30 years of automotive experience. Ryan's father, Alex Baum instilled in him the belief that there are two pillars to success: community and people. It’s this philosophy that drives us to stay involved in Cochrane and constantly strive to do better for our customers. We’ve always been involved, Whether it’s sponsoring local events, supporting sports, or simply offering a helping hand to a neighbour in need, we are proud to be part of this incredible community.

Looking Ahead

While we’re incredibly proud of all we’ve accomplished, we’re even more excited about the future. The return to normal operations post-pandemic has brought a renewed sense of energy, and with more dealerships opening in Cochrane than ever before, we’re driven to work harder each day to keep providing top-notch service. Healthy competition only pushes us to improve, and it’s a win for all of us in the community.

A Night of Achievements

As part of the celebration, we also had the pleasure of rolling out our 10,000th new vehicle, another significant milestone in our 15-year journey. We’ve hit so many remarkable achievements recently, including:

• Winning the 2024 Toyota President’s Program Award, placing #1 among 247 dealerships

• Achieving Toyota “Platinum” Status in 2023-2025 , Only 7 dealerships in the country achieved this recognition

• Reaching 15 years of operations in Cochrane

• Celebrating 30 years in business for Alex Baum and Glen Rumpel starting a successful automotive dream at the skirts of the Rocky Mountains (From Cochrane Dodge to Cochrane Toyota)

• Selling our 10,000th new Toyota vehicle in Cochrane!

Adding to the excitement of the evening, we were delighted to have centrepieces from the Plant Place in Cochrane, Cochrane Coffee Traders serving up their amazing brews. After an unforgettable BBQ dinner, we capped off the night with a sweet touch from the legendary McKay’s Ice Cream—the perfect cherry on top of an already amazing evening.

A big thank you also goes out to the local media who joined us in celebrating this special night. Your support and coverage help us stay connected to our community, and we appreciate all that you do.

It’s truly an honor to reflect on all of these milestones, and none of it would have been possible without the incredible support of our staff, our community, and our valued customers.
